Well, it’s been a helluva ride. Mostly good, with a little bit of bad. I’ve been meaning to post forever, but just kept putting it off. You know how it is … but it’s past time.
Since Day 6 in Longview, we had a spectacular ride along the Columbia River before taking the ferry and busting into Oregon.
Cathy reminded the me that we crossed the same Columbia River at the NORTH edge of Washington in 2019. Kinda full circle and lovin’ it.
Then, in Astoria, the trip went from great to slightly better than that … we picked up Harpo, Midge and TLee. Oh my goodness … the stories and laughs and general love skyrocketed. The very first night’s dinner with Liz, Emily and Duncan (Mike’s wife, sister and brother-in-law) was too much fun. Fascinating people with great stories, all.
From Astoria to Cannon Beach to Tillamook (including the cheese & ice cream facility) to Lincoln City to Waldport to Reedsport … a slew of great miles interspersed with tons of good meals and a million laughs.
Tex, TLee and I managed to get in a couple more rounds of golf at some great courses. Big fun!
Unfortunately, I suffered a spate of bad luck with some repeated flat tires (both front and back), but nothing we high steppers couldn’t handle.
Then, our luck really turned. As we approached North Bend, on our way to Bandon, Boomer reported some serious mechanical issues with Vic. Long story short … we’re stuck in Bandon for the weekend (which ain’t all that bad), waiting for Bayview RV Repair to open Monday morning and tell us just how impacted our trip’s going to be. Grrrrrr.
